Polaroid Announces 4K Ultra HD LED TV Equipped With Google Cast

Polaroid Announces 4K Ultra HD LED TV Equipped With Google Cast
Polaroid has introduced its own 4K Ultra HD LED TVs, created through its partnership with Google.

As part of Polaroid's partnership with Google, the new TVs come equipped with Google Cast, which allows users to play media through their compatible mobile devices like iPhones, Android devices and laptops.

Google Cast eliminates the need for the TVs to come with its own smart TV operating system, and this also means that users won't need a set top box to enjoy streaming from various services like YouTube and Netflix.

Polaroid's new Ultra HD LED TVs come in four different sizes: 43, 50, 55 and 65 inches.

All of the TVs come with a screen resolution of 3840x2160, with more than 8 million pixels and a refresh rate of 120hz, according to Polaroid.

It features HDMI 2.0 inputs for digital video and audio and also comes built-in with support for HEVC (H.265) video codec.

HEVC is slowly becoming the new standard of HD video, and having the tech built-in would also remove the need for users to use a workaround to get support.

In terms of design, Polaroid's new Ultra HD TVs come with a sleek design that's commonly found in other high-end models from other brands.

The TVs come with really thin bezels that makes the pictures on the screen more immersive.

Probably the best thing about Polaroid's new 4K Ultra HD LED TVs is the price. For the 43-inch model, users can pick one up for only $499. The price goes all the way up to $999 for the 65-inch model.

"By teaming up with a company such as Google, we are able to offer consumers the latest in TV technology so they can easily share and enjoy their favorite content, and more importantly, deliver tremendous value to those looking to upgrade to a higher-resolution," Polaroid CEO Scott W. Hardy said.

Polaroid says that the 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch models will go on sale sometime during the summer. The company will also be releasing a $1,899 75-inch model later this fall, according to Engadget.
